This was clean store I ever been to. Has nice environment and surrounding to it. Never been to this store before but I definitely will stop by if I am out there in the area again. Love this store's style.
Shame on anyone who gave this place anything less than 5 stars!! This place is fantastic! Wagyu steak, walk around beers, live music, really great food selection of higher end foods, better than Whole Foods or Fresh market, half the price. This place is one of the best in the state!!!!!!

This is an amazing food store in a small town. We were blown away at how nice this store was and how much variety it had in such a small town.
I've been to tons of grocery stores in my life as I've lived in several places but I had never been to Lowes Foods. The store was clean unlike a number of the Ingles stores (or the local Food Lion)the selection was decent but not as good as say Publix. They have antibiotic free chicken but did not see antibiotic free beef (believe it or not found at Food Lion). Their prepared foods are ok, (would prefer healthier selections) salad bar average at best (greens weren't terribly fresh), produce selection was average and specialty items up to par. I was forced to go to the Publix or Harris Teeter in Boone for certain items that I knew I couldn't find at Lowes or Food Lion (which I tend to avoid).
Great store and this places seems to have everything from desserts, cakes, to large deli selection with Boars Head meats, to Prime Angus meats and pork and poultry, all kinds of neat local BBQ sauces and dressings, large frozen section etc etc etc. You can find almost anything here. Get this... They have sushi grade yellow fin tuna even! Great seafood selection.
Seriously the best grocery in town. Local eats and a craft beer garden? The take out chicken was great along with the pizza. We came from PA and loved he experience and can't wait to return. Honest prices and great selection who could ask for more. Plus the staff is friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to return. Updated review as of 09/03/19 stopped in today during another trip and got to meet Randy who is full of company information such as the history and background. Was awesome to hang out and chat with him for a bit after seeing him in the lot gathering carts (that's a boots on the ground manager). Again the store and staff were amazingly friendly. I wish my home store was as friendly.
What is there not to like about this grocery store? They have a great variety of wine, cheeses, bakery items, organic produce and just about everything you could want or need. Parking is plentiful. The beer and wine bar provide half price glasses on Thursdays to enjoy while you shop. They'll even let you sample different wines before you select which one you'd like. The meat department has such a great selection including fresh seafood. Try the ground Elk for a burger you'll love! In a hurry? They have an extensive hot food bar too. We love Lowe's at Tynecastle.
